Since 1917, the American Association of University Women has awarded more than 3,300 fellowships to women from more than 130 nations. Recipients are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to the advancement of women and girls.
Past recipients have returned to their home countries to become leaders in business, government, academia, civil society, the arts, and sciences. Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a United States bachelor’s degree by Sept. 30 of the year of the application and must have applied to their proposed institutions of study before submitting a fellowship application.
