Civil Society Scholar Awards

Who:   PhD students and faculty from Egypt, Palestine, Tunisia, Sudan and Syria

What:   Project-related support of up to $10,000 for doctoral students, $15,000 for faculty

When:   Academic year

Where:   Worldwide

Program length:   Two to 10 months

Deadline to apply:   To be announced (usually April)

Description

Doctoral applicants can be studying in or outside their home countries. Faculty applicants must be employed in their home countries with the aim of conducting a research project internationally.

Proposals for any subject area within the social sciences and humanities are welcome, particularly those related to law, justice and governance; sustainable development and natural resource management; economic rights and empowerment of the poor; public health, social work and community development; new media law and policy; inclusive education; post-conflict studies and human rights
