Al Amal Kindergarten & School for Deaf provides the specialized services of education, rehabilitation, and empowerment for deaf students from the age of 2 until the age of 20 incorporating classes from KG1 until 12th grade.
Commencing with only 12 students in 1979 with textbooks brought from Kuwait, the school curriculum was then developed by the Ministry of Education.
This then developed with courses offered within two years by using tuned pronunciation.
SCHS signed a ten year contract with a school from Belgium to further develop these courses. Currently, deaf students and main stream students use the same textbooks.
Al Amal Kindergarten & School for Deaf uses lip reading, sign language, and tuned pronunciation to teach the deaf.
